Today I’m starting a little blog to keep track of my two obsessions: photography and Japanese. A few times a week I’m going to update this site with photos I’ve taken throughout the week as well as updates on my continued adventure in learning Japanese. I don’t expect anyone else to ever see this but I want to do it as nothing more than a motivational tool to keep my working every day towards some kind of nebulous goal. Maybe with time that goal will seem less nebulous. Until tomorrow…

This is a car I see on my weekly Sunday walks. For some reason I feel a certain kinship with is. Maybe it’s the patina of latent abandonment, or maybe it’s simply that it is old and run down. I think it is an encapsulation of my current mood and the direction I want to take this project.
